The Accidental Fringe
This is a story about the time I learned to accept circumstances that I couldn’t control.
And God knows I’ve had to learn that lesson a LOT of times before it started sinking in even slightly.
For I’ve ever been a control freak.
Daydreaming about my life. Mapping it out. Making plans.
In essence: escaping from the present.
And so this is a story about the first time I learned a different tactic.
Acknowledge it. Accept it. Move on.
After hurricane Sandy, the New York economy struggled a little bit. Due to the power outage a lot of studios were out of order. Fortunately, I managed to still do some jobs in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy.
In fact, despite the slight hit in NY's economy, I managed to book a shoot for American Elle.
A shoot I managed to arrive 2.5 hours late for because it shared the exact same address with a building that could have been a studio, but wasn’t.
Completely on the other side of town.
Despite this slight hiccup, everything went fine.
